lately I’ve been thinking about how the human experience consists of a lot of self inflicted pressure — we need to stop the grind mentality. by constantly trying to refine ourselves we are setting ourselves up to stay in the building phase. while this phase promotes growth it is still meant to be a phase that passes. It’s uncomfortable to push yourself and likewise it’s uncomfortable to make yourself stop. sometimes it is simply more important to be still and appreciate where we are now. this moment is precious and we will never be here again.
the building phase is setting you up to view yourself as less than you are, you’re inviting the discount shoppers to bargain with you because they can smell the weakness and lack of self worth you associate with yourself. you have already made it. your time, energy, effort, services are VALUABLE. we need to tell ourselves this as often as possible, it’s not even a question, it’s the truth. once you start to believe this about yourself, everyone around you will believe it too.
